Ajax has initiated preliminary contacts regarding the potential transfer of 22-year-old Gabonese midfielder Maestro, who currently plays for the Turkish Super Lig club Alanyaspor.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that the Dutch giants are also monitoring star midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as they look to bolster their central options. Maestro joined Alanyaspor in July 2025 and is under contract with the club until June 2029.
During the 2025/2026 Super Lig season, the midfielder has made 15 appearances, recording one goal and one assist. While the Transfermarkt portal estimates the player's market value at 4 million euros, Alanyaspor has reportedly set an asking price between 6 and 10 million euros. Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor are also in the race for the Gabonese international, with Fenerbahce previously making an offer of 4.5 million euros in December 2025.
The interest from major European and Turkish clubs highlights the growing reputation of the Turkish Super Lig as a developmental hub for young African talent. Ajax, known for its scouting network and focus on technical midfielders, views Maestro as a long-term prospect, while Turkish powerhouses Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor seek to strengthen their domestic dominance by securing one of the league's standout performers.
