The Houthi movement in Yemen has launched ballistic missiles targeting Israel, according to reports from the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah television station.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing France 24, that the missile strike was part of a coordinated effort by the group.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the operation was carried out in support of Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine. Saree claimed that the missiles successfully reached their intended targets, characterizing the mission as a victory for the regional resistance forces.

However, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) provided a different account of the incident. Israeli military officials confirmed they detected a missile launched from Yemen and announced that their air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized the projectile before it could cause harm. No casualties or significant damage have been reported following the interception.

The Houthi movement, officially known as Ansar Allah, has increasingly utilized long-range drones and ballistic missiles against international shipping and regional targets since late 2023. These actions have significantly heightened tensions in the Middle East, prompting international maritime task forces to increase patrols in the Red Sea. Azerbaijan continues to monitor regional stability closely, maintaining its commitment to international law and the principle of territorial sovereignty for all nations.
