Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer has embarked on a new chapter in his professional career. The experienced shot-stopper, who has previously played for top European clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, will now compete in the Belgian championship.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the 37-year-old footballer has officially signed a contract with Club Brugge.

The club's press service confirmed that the agreement is a long-term deal, valid until 2029. This move marks a significant addition to the Belgian side's squad as they look to bolster their defensive options.

It is worth noting that Club Brugge secured the Belgian league title last season, earning a direct qualification spot for the UEFA Champions League. The club, based in Bruges, is one of the most successful teams in Belgian football history, frequently competing in European tournaments.

Sommer's performance in the Italian Serie A last season was highly notable. The Swiss goalkeeper made 33 appearances for Inter, conceding 31 goals while maintaining a clean sheet in 15 of those matches, demonstrating his continued reliability at the highest level of European football.
