Fransada norovirus şübhəsi - 1700-dən çox şəxs karantinə alındı

More than 1,700 people have been placed under quarantine on a cruise ship docked at the port of Bordeaux, France, following a suspected norovirus outbreak. Local health authorities reported that the infection led to the death of a 90-year-old passenger and left dozens of others ill.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, approximately 50 passengers exhibited symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Official bodies have not yet specified when the quarantine period will conclude as medical teams continue to monitor the situation on board.

Norovirus is recognized globally as one of the leading causes of gastrointestinal infections on cruise ships due to the high density of passengers in confined spaces. The virus is highly contagious and spreads through contaminated food and water, as well as contact with frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and railings. While symptoms typically subside within one to three days, the rapid transmission rate often necessitates strict isolation protocols to prevent wider outbreaks in maritime environments.
