A special envoy from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized the European Union's (EU) current security strategy. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the diplomat stated that European nations have chosen a path detached from a realistic security concept for the Eurasian continent.

The diplomat noted that European states have largely abandoned cooperation with Russia, relying instead on rhetoric regarding security matters. According to the official, the system currently being formulated by the EU is not a genuine security architecture but merely a structure that bears the name.

The official also criticized statements from European leaders regarding perceived threats from Russia and its allies. He emphasized that the Eurasian security concept proposed by Moscow does not contradict the initiatives of other states and that Russia remains open to dialogue in this regard.

Other Russian officials have also expressed concerns regarding security policies in Europe. Dmitry Polyanski, Russia's Permanent Representative to the OSCE, stated that European countries are approaching a dangerous threshold in their confrontation with Russia, noting that several states are attempting to deepen their involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.

It should be recalled that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously stated that Europe is attempting to "freeze" the conflict rather than address its root causes. He also issued warnings regarding plans by certain Western countries to send military contingents to Ukraine.

The ongoing diplomatic friction reflects the broader geopolitical tensions between Russia and the West. The European security architecture, largely defined by institutions like the OSCE and NATO, has faced significant strain since the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, leading to a breakdown in traditional diplomatic communication channels between Moscow and Brussels.
