Authorities have issued detention orders for 13 suspects as part of an ongoing investigation into corruption allegations within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. According to reports from Operativ Information Center-OMM, citing the Turkish media outlet "Haber Global," 12 of the suspects have already been taken into custody.
Law enforcement officials are currently working to locate and apprehend the remaining individual, who is believed to be abroad. The detainees are being investigated on charges related to bid-rigging in public tenders and causing financial loss to the state.
This operation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing scrutiny of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Previous investigations have led to the detention of several high-ranking officials within the institution and the freezing of assets belonging to more than 10 companies linked to the alleged corruption schemes.
