The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced that eight employees were subjected to disciplinary action during the first half of 2026 due to various professional misconduct violations identified during internal audits.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was disclosed during an expanded board meeting dedicated to reviewing the performance of the prosecutor's office for the first six months of 2026.

It was reported that among the disciplined staff, six individuals received reprimands or severe reprimands, while two employees were dismissed from their positions. These measures underscore the institution's ongoing commitment to maintaining strict professional standards and accountability within the legal system.

Furthermore, the report highlighted that significant efforts have been made to optimize human resources management in line with modern requirements. During the reporting period, 110 employees were commended for exemplary performance. Additionally, to ensure the continuous renewal and professional development of the staff, a new recruitment competition was announced for 30 vacancies.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan serves as the central authority responsible for overseeing the rule of law, conducting criminal investigations, and representing the state in court proceedings. Regular internal audits and performance reviews are standard practices within the agency to ensure transparency and adherence to the legal code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
