A powerful explosion has been recorded at a military plant located in the village of Belitsa, near the city of Tryavna in Bulgaria. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the "BNT News" outlet, thick columns of smoke have been observed rising from the site of the incident.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the incident originated when one of the trucks on the facility's premises caught fire, with the flames subsequently spreading to one of the ammunition storage units.

Bulgarian Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev issued a statement confirming that, as a precautionary safety measure, residents of nearby settlements are being evacuated. The minister noted that an investigation into the specific causes of the incident is currently underway.

It should be noted that this is not the first security-related incident in Bulgaria in recent times. Previously, an unidentified drone exploded in the country, approximately one kilometer from a compressor station. At that time, President Rumen Radev stated that the unmanned aerial vehicle had arrived from the direction of Romania, leading to the summoning of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashuk, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bulgaria, a NATO member, has been increasingly vigilant regarding industrial and national security incidents in recent years, particularly given the heightened geopolitical tensions in the Black Sea region. Such facilities are critical infrastructure points, and authorities typically enforce strict safety protocols to prevent accidents involving explosive materials.
