As a result of an operation conducted by the Main Drug Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Khagani Hamzayev and Kanan Guliyev have been detained in Baku.
The press service of the MIA informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the suspects were found in possession of 26 kilograms of narcotics, including marijuana enriched with harmful additives and methamphetamine.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact, and a court-ordered measure of restraint in the form of arrest has been implemented against the suspects. Operations are currently ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the drug trafficking network.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues to intensify its nationwide efforts to combat illicit drug trafficking and prevent the spread of synthetic substances. These operations are part of a broader strategic initiative to ensure public safety and dismantle organized criminal groups involved in the distribution of narcotics within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
