On February 26, the Economic Council of Azerbaijan held a meeting to discuss reforms aimed at removing obstacles to entrepreneurship and enhancing the business climate in the country.
The Cabinet of Ministers told Operative Information Center-OMM that the meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, focused on reports from Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and head of the relevant working group, and Khagani Mammadov, Chairman of the Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court. The participants held detailed discussions on judicial-legal matters and public procurement procedures, specifically addressing issues raised by the business community. Other speakers included Inam Karimov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov, and Elnur Baghirov, Head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control.
The Economic Council, established to ensure economic stability and promote sustainable growth in Azerbaijan, regularly reviews legislative frameworks to align with international standards. These reforms are part of a broader national strategy to diversify the economy and increase the role of the private sector in the country's development. At the conclusion of the session, instructions were issued to prepare draft amendments to relevant legal acts for submission to the Cabinet of Ministers, incorporating the feedback and proposals provided by the Council members.
