In the current academic year, a total of 116,550 students are graduating from secondary schools across Azerbaijan, according to data released by the State Agency for Preschool and General Education.
The agency provided these statistics to the Operative Information Center-OMM, noting that the graduating class consists of 55,954 female students and 60,596 male students.
A significant milestone will be reached this year as the "Last Bell" ceremonies—marking the end of the academic year—will be held for the first time in 25 general education institutions located in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. A total of 171 students are set to graduate from these schools, symbolizing the restoration of educational infrastructure in the region.
The "Last Bell" is a traditional event in Azerbaijan held annually on June 14, marking the conclusion of the academic year. The restoration of educational activities in the liberated territories, including the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions, remains a key priority for the government as part of the broader Great Return program, which aims to facilitate the resettlement of former internally displaced persons to their ancestral lands.
