Ağdamda 39 yaşlı sakin minaya düşdü

A landmine explosion occurred in the territory of Yusifjanli village in the Aghdam district, resulting in injuries to a local resident.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Jeyhun Firdovsi oglu Abbasov, born in 1985, was injured after stepping on a mine. Specialists from the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) were immediately dispatched to the area to evacuate the victim and secure the perimeter. An investigation into the incident has been launched by relevant authorities.

Aghdam, which was liberated from occupation following the 2020 44-day war, remains one of the most heavily mine-contaminated regions in Azerbaijan. The presence of unexploded ordnance and landmines continues to pose a significant threat to civilians and restoration efforts in the liberated territories. Azerbaijan has repeatedly called for international support in its massive demining operations, as the government works to ensure the safe return of internally displaced persons to their ancestral lands in Garabagh.
