The plan for Ukraine's partial admission to the European Union is a "declaration of war" against Hungary.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban shared this statement on his social media account. The Prime Minister sharply criticized the European Union's reported strategy to bypass Hungary's veto power and partially admit Ukraine into the bloc by 2027.

The Prime Minister wrote:

"This new plan is an open declaration of war against Hungary. They are ignoring the decision of the Hungarian people and are determined to overthrow the Hungarian government by any means necessary."

According to Orban, Brussels aims to facilitate the rise of the Tisza party to power in Hungary to prevent any future vetoes on such critical issues. He suggested that the EU leadership is actively seeking a change in administration in Budapest to align the country's foreign policy with the central directives of the European Commission regarding eastward expansion.

The tension between Budapest and Brussels has intensified as Ukraine seeks accelerated membership following the ongoing conflict with Russia. While the European Union has officially opened accession negotiations with Kyiv, the process typically requires unanimous consent from all member states. Hungary has frequently utilized its veto power to block financial aid and integration milestones for Ukraine, citing concerns over minority rights and economic stability within the union.
