An armed individual who breached the security perimeter of the Mar-a-Lago estate has been shot and killed by security personnel. Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing international media outlets, that the incident occurred at the residence of US President Donald Trump.
According to official reports, the intruder was identified as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin, an artist from North Carolina. On February 22, Martin reportedly entered the secure zone of the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach by slipping through an open gate as another vehicle was exiting the premises. The Palm Beach Police Department stated that Secret Service agents confronted the suspect and ordered him to drop the items in his possession—a gas canister and a shotgun. "At that moment, he lowered the gas canister and raised the shotgun into a firing position," the police department noted in a statement. In response to the immediate threat, security agents opened fire to neutralize the individual.
Austin Tucker Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. US media reports indicate that US President Donald Trump and his family members were not present at the estate when the security breach occurred. The Mar-a-Lago club, which serves as a primary residence for the President, is subject to stringent security protocols managed by the US Secret Service and local law enforcement. This incident follows a series of heightened security measures implemented at presidential residences across the United States to ensure the safety of high-ranking officials and their properties.
