Turkish authorities have denied entry to a cruise ship operated by the international company Atlantis Events, preventing it from docking at the country's ports.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from CNN, the decision specifically targets the cruise vessel operated by Atlantis Events. The ship, which was scheduled to travel the Athens-Venice route, was expected to dock at the port of Kusadasi on July 7, followed by a scheduled arrival in Istanbul.

However, local officials canceled the port calls, citing that the nature of the activities planned by the passenger groups on board did not align with Turkey's public and cultural values. Ankara stated that the decision was taken to uphold the country's domestic social and moral principles.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion in international media. Similar restrictions based on security and public order regulations have been implemented in various European countries in the past regarding specific cruise itineraries and passenger activities.

Turkey, a major hub for Mediterranean tourism, frequently regulates maritime traffic and port access based on national security and public policy considerations. The country's strategic location makes it a critical transit point for international cruise lines, and such decisions are typically made to ensure that maritime activities remain consistent with local regulatory frameworks.
