US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social account that all hostages held in Gaza—both survivors and those who perished—have been fully recovered and returned.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Trump noted that the process concluded with the discovery of the final hostage's body. The operation marks a significant turning point in the ongoing efforts to resolve the hostage crisis that has persisted since the escalation of the conflict.
"We have recovered the body of the last hostage in Gaza. Thus, we have brought back all 20 survivors and all those who perished! It is a magnificent job. Many thought this was impossible," the US President stated.
Official data provided by the Israeli military identified the final hostage recovered in the Gaza Strip as a soldier named Ran Gvili. Meanwhile, the Hamas group claimed that the body was located specifically due to the coordinates and information they provided during the negotiations.
It should be recalled that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had set the recovery of Gvili's body as a primary condition for the reopening of the Rafah border crossing. It was stated that the border gate could only resume operations following the completion of this process. The recovery is expected to facilitate humanitarian movements and diplomatic discussions regarding the regional security situation.
The hostage crisis has been a central focus of international diplomacy involving the United States, regional powers, and international organizations. The successful recovery of all individuals is viewed as a critical step toward stabilizing the volatile situation in the Middle East and addressing the humanitarian concerns arising from the protracted conflict.
