Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have expressed full support for Azerbaijan's ongoing chairmanship of the organization, highly praising the country's contributions to strengthening unity, institutional capacity, and the development of multilateral cooperation.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these sentiments were detailed in a joint statement adopted at the conclusion of the second meeting of heads of government and vice presidents of OTS member states held in Baku.
"The heads of government and vice presidents of the OTS member states welcomed the successful organization of the first meeting held on September 18, 2025, in Bishkek during the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic. Support was expressed for Azerbaijan's ongoing chairmanship in the OTS, and active efforts aimed at strengthening unity, institutional potential, and developing practical cooperation in priority areas were highly appreciated," the statement said.
Participants of the meeting reaffirmed the commitments of member states within the framework of the Nakhchivan Agreement and other fundamental documents of the OTS. Furthermore, it was emphasized that close cooperation within the OTS plays a vital role in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development both within the region and beyond its borders.
The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, was established in 2009 as an intergovernmental organization with the overarching aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking states. Azerbaijan, a founding member, has consistently advocated for deeper integration among member nations, focusing on strategic sectors such as transport, energy, and digital connectivity to enhance the geopolitical relevance of the Turkic world.
