The Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan has held its latest session to discuss ongoing reforms within the judicial system.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Inam Karimov, Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, addressed the meeting. He provided a detailed overview of the comprehensive reforms currently underway in the judiciary, emphasizing efforts to align the administration of justice with modern challenges and outlining future objectives for the sector.

During the session, participants engaged in detailed discussions regarding various projects prepared by the Council’s Office and working groups aimed at enhancing judicial operations. The Council reviewed initiatives designed to improve procedural efficiency and transparency within the courts.

Furthermore, the Council officially approved two significant documents: the "List of documents generated by the judicial activities of the courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including retention periods, and the Instruction on its application," as well as the revised "Code of Ethical Conduct for Judges," which has been updated to meet contemporary standards and requirements.

The Judicial-Legal Council plays a pivotal role in Azerbaijan's legal framework, overseeing the selection, promotion, and disciplinary processes for judges. These reforms are part of a broader, long-term strategy in Azerbaijan to modernize the legal infrastructure, ensure greater judicial independence, and increase public trust in the court system.
