The online stage of the sixth "Yukselish" (Ascension) competition has commenced with a general knowledge trial examination. A total of 6,747 candidates participated in the online session, which serves as a preliminary step in the prestigious national talent identification program.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the primary objective of the trial exam was to familiarize participants with the examination system, question formats, and technical procedures. The assessment covered four key areas: the "Azerbaijan block," "World block," "Management basics," and "Modern trends," with 25 questions allocated to each section. The 90-minute examination began at 11:00 AM. For those unable to attend, the examination platform will remain accessible via personal accounts for 24 hours to allow candidates to review the questions.
The main general knowledge examination is scheduled to take place on May 2–3. Candidates must secure a minimum of 60 points to qualify for the subsequent stages of the competition. This year’s edition introduces several innovations to the online stage, including a mix of closed and open-ended questions, audio-based tasks, and a sequential navigation system that prevents participants from returning to previous questions. To ensure technical support, the "1820" Call Center and official electronic communication channels operated in an enhanced mode, addressing inquiries from both within Azerbaijan and abroad.
The "Yukselish" competition was established following a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on July 26, 2019. The initiative is designed to identify and support promising leaders with high intellectual potential and management qualities across the country. Winners are awarded a 20,000 AZN grant for personal development and benefit from a one-year individual career growth plan mentored by top-tier government officials and business executives. The decree for the sixth iteration of the contest was signed by President Ilham Aliyev on December 10, 2025.
