A delegation led by Richard Raši, Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, visited the Alley of Honor in Baku on May 13.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the delegation honored the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state. The Slovak officials laid a wreath and fresh flowers at the grave of the National Leader as a mark of respect.
The Alley of Honor is a prominent memorial site and cemetery in Baku that serves as the final resting place for distinguished Azerbaijanis, including heads of state, scientists, and cultural figures. High-level diplomatic visits to the site are a traditional part of official state protocols in Azerbaijan, reflecting the importance of the legacy of Heydar Aliyev in the nation's contemporary history. Bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Slovakia have seen significant growth recently, with both nations seeking to expand cooperation in energy, trade, and inter-parliamentary relations.
