President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The remarks were made during the informal Summit of the OTS Heads of State held in Turkestan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the significant contributions made by the Azerbaijani leader. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the honorable Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, for his effective chairmanship and his great efforts aimed at strengthening the international prestige of our organization," the Uzbek President stated.
The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, has become an increasingly vital platform for economic, political, and cultural cooperation among Turkic-speaking nations. Under the leadership of Azerbaijan, the organization has expanded its reach, focusing on regional connectivity, trade, and security. The informal summit in Turkestan serves as a key venue for leaders to discuss the implementation of the "Turkic World Vision – 2040" and further integrate the strategic interests of the member states.
