Azerbaijan's State Border Service (SBS) seized smuggled goods with a total estimated value of 7,573,290 manats during operations conducted throughout March, official sources reported.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the State Border Service that the confiscated items included a significant amount of Russian Federation currency, firearm ammunition, various medications, and tobacco products. These measures were part of ongoing intensified efforts to combat illegal trafficking and ensure border security across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan continues to implement comprehensive operational and technical measures to prevent the illegal movement of goods and people across the national borders. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly modernized its border infrastructure, particularly in liberated territories such as Zangilan, Lachin, and Kalbajar, to strengthen the country's defense systems and curb transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking and smuggling.
