On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, the Chief of the State Security Service (SSS), Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, and the personnel of the Service visited the "Mother's Cry" monument in Baku to honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated in the official information released by the Press Service of the State Security Service. During the ceremony, bouquets of flowers were laid before the monument, and the dear memory of those who perished during the genocide was honored with deep respect.
The Khojaly genocide, committed by Armenian armed forces on the night of February 25-26, 1992, remains one of the most tragic chapters in the history of Azerbaijan. During the massacre in the town of Khojaly, 613 civilians were killed, including 106 women, 63 children, and 70 elderly people. Every year, the people of Azerbaijan and state institutions commemorate the victims to ensure international recognition of the tragedy and to preserve the memory of those lost during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
