The Russian Armed Forces have taken control of two settlements in the Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions of Ukraine. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was released in an official statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the report, units of the "Vostok" troop grouping have established full control over the village of Krinichnoye, located in the Zaporizhzhia region. Simultaneously, it was noted that units of the "Sever" troop grouping have fortified their positions in the Kharkovka settlement within the Sumy region.

The Russian side also stated that the Ukrainian military regularly targets Russia's border regions, particularly the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh regions, using drones and other military equipment. These territorial shifts occur amid intensified frontline activity as both sides continue to engage in high-intensity combat operations across the eastern and southern sectors of the conflict zone.

Russia launched its military operations in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. President Vladimir Putin characterized the objective of this move as the protection of Donbas residents, as well as the demilitarization of Ukraine. In response, Western nations have imposed stringent economic sanctions against Russia.

The ongoing conflict has significantly impacted regional security and global energy markets, leading to a major geopolitical shift in Eurasia. Azerbaijan, maintaining its principled stance on territorial integrity and international law, continues to monitor the situation closely while providing humanitarian aid to those affected by the crisis.
