Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation today with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty to discuss the latest regional developments.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the discussions focused on the evolving situation in the Middle East and the specific deadline set by US President Donald Trump regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a statement from the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers emphasized the critical importance of de-escalation and dialogue to maintain regional stability. The officials agreed to maintain close cooperation and coordination as the situation continues to develop. Additionally, Badr Abdelatty held separate discussions with US President Donald Trump's representative Steven Witkoff and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that these talks aimed at reaching a mutual understanding to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most vital maritime passages, serving as a primary transit point for global oil supplies. Pakistan, with the support of other regional nations, is currently intensifying its diplomatic efforts to bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table. These diplomatic maneuvers come amid heightened international focus on maritime security and the preservation of global energy trade routes in the Persian Gulf region.
