The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has amended the decree dated August 11, 2016, regarding the composition of the board of the Ministry of Finance. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the new decision to implement these structural changes.
Under the new regulations, the number of board members has been increased from 13 to 15. The board is chaired by the Minister of Finance and includes the First Deputy Minister, Deputy Ministers, the Minister of Finance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Head of the Ministry's Apparatus, and the Deputy Heads of the Apparatus. Additionally, the heads of the State Financial Control Service, the State Treasury Agency, the State Debt and Financial Liabilities Management Agency, and the State Enterprise Monitoring Agency are designated as board members.
The Ministry of Finance is the central executive body responsible for the development and implementation of Azerbaijan's fiscal policy. This expansion of the board is part of ongoing efforts to optimize the management of state finances and improve the coordination of specialized agencies. By including a broader range of leadership from within the ministry's apparatus and its subsidiary agencies, the government aims to ensure more comprehensive oversight of the state budget, public debt management, and financial monitoring across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
