Azerbaijan appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan

Rəşad Məmmədov Azərbaycanın Türkiyədəki səfiri vəzifəsindən geri çağırılıb

Rashad Eynaddin oglu Mammadov has been recalled from his position as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Türkiye.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree regarding this diplomatic reassignment.

By another decree issued by the head of state, Rashad Mammadov has been appointed as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that Mammadov had been serving as the ambassador to Türkiye since July 26, 2021. Diplomatic rotations of this nature are standard practice in Azerbaijan's foreign service, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and strategic cooperation with partner nations in the region.
