Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the Russian Federation Rahman Mustafayev and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin have met in Moscow to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) released a statement confirming that the meeting took place on April 28. The statement noted that during the discussions, the officials focused on "several topical issues of bilateral relations," emphasizing the importance of continued diplomatic engagement and the implementation of previous agreements.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are characterized by a strategic partnership, further strengthened by the Declaration on Allied Interaction signed in February 2022. This cooperation spans various critical sectors, including trade, energy, transportation, and regional security. Regular high-level dialogues between Baku and Moscow serve to enhance economic ties and address regional stability in the South Caucasus, particularly in the context of the post-conflict period and the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity in the Garabagh region.
