Qalibaf: ABŞ danışıqlarda Tehranın etimadını qazana bilmədi

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and head of the Iranian delegation to the Islamabad talks, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated on Sunday that the United States has failed to gain Tehran's trust. The official emphasized that the lack of confidence remains a primary hurdle in diplomatic engagements between the two nations.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Xinhua news agency, reports that Qalibaf described the discussions between the parties as inconclusive in this regard. He further noted that Washington has proven incapable of creating the necessary atmosphere of trust required for substantive progress in bilateral relations.

The statements come amid ongoing regional diplomatic efforts in Islamabad aimed at addressing long-standing tensions between Iran and Western powers. Historically, relations between Tehran and Washington have been strained by disagreements over nuclear policy, regional influence, and economic sanctions. These latest remarks underscore the persistent challenges in reviving high-level diplomacy and the deep-seated skepticism held by Iranian officials regarding American foreign policy commitments.
