The Kremlin has not ruled out the possibility of a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that such a dialogue could take place following the results of recent visits by US representatives to Moscow and Kyiv.

On September 5-6, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited both Moscow and Kyiv. During the Moscow leg of the trip, the American delegation held a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, which reportedly lasted over three hours.

Dmitri Peskov noted that should a telephone conversation between President Putin and US President Donald Trump be scheduled, the Kremlin will issue an official statement to the public. Currently, no specific timeline or format for such a discussion has been finalized or announced by either side.

The potential for direct communication between the leaders of Russia and the United States is closely watched by the international community, particularly given the ongoing geopolitical tensions and the active diplomatic efforts by the new US administration to engage with regional stakeholders.
