Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has officially announced the transfer of 18-year-old Spanish midfielder Pedro Dro Fernandes Sarmiento from Barcelona. The young talent has joined the French giants on a permanent basis, signing a long-term contract that secures his future in Paris until the summer of 2030.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the young footballer will wear the number 27 jersey for PSG. Barcelona reportedly earned 6 million euros from the transfer of the promising midfielder. Dro Fernandes, born on January 12, 2008, made his senior debut for Barcelona during the 2025 summer pre-season, where he scored his first goal, and subsequently made several appearances in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League during the autumn season.
Following the transfer, Dro Fernandes expressed his excitement to the club's press service:
“Wearing the PSG jersey is a source of great happiness and pride for me. This carries a special meaning for my family as well. PSG is a magnificent club that I have followed since childhood, where legends of world football have played. I am now highly motivated to play for this team and give my all.”This move aligns with PSG's ongoing strategy of recruiting elite young prospects from across Europe to bolster their squad for both domestic competition in Ligue 1 and their pursuit of the UEFA Champions League title.
