On August 23, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan participated in an online ceremony marking the inauguration and groundbreaking of several joint development projects in Tashkent.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the event featured the official opening of several key initiatives, including the Davr Bank (International Bank of Azerbaijan), a gypsum plant operated by Matanat-A, and two STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) schools under the Landau Education Group. Furthermore, the leaders participated in the groundbreaking ceremonies for five new SOCAR filling stations, the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan residential and leisure complex developed by Agalarov Development, the Baku City residential complex by TuranAZ, a silver ore processing plant, and a new fruit orchard project.
These collaborative efforts underscore the deepening strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. In recent years, both nations have significantly expanded their economic cooperation, focusing on infrastructure, education, and industrial development. Such joint ventures are designed to strengthen bilateral trade ties and foster long-term economic integration between the two countries, reflecting a shared commitment to regional development and modernization.
