Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Asim Munir, held a high-level meeting in Tehran to discuss critical regional security matters.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the discussions focused primarily on regional security challenges and the current trajectory of US policy toward Iran.

During the meeting, President Pezeshkian stated that Washington's policy, which he characterized as being based on pressure and coercion, would not yield the intended results. He emphasized that such approaches in international relations are unacceptable and counterproductive to regional stability.

The two sides also underscored the necessity of strictly adhering to the terms of the "Islamabad Agreement." Furthermore, the dialogue covered the importance of strengthening the unity of the Islamic world in the face of regional threats and the further development of strategic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.

This meeting occurs against a backdrop of complex geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and South Asia. Iran and Pakistan share a long border and have historically maintained significant, albeit sometimes complex, security and economic ties. Strengthening bilateral defense and political cooperation is often viewed by Tehran as a strategic necessity to counter external pressures and promote regional integration.
