For many years, France's overseas territories have suffered significantly due to the country's persistent colonial policies. These regions have frequently been utilized for military experimentation, including nuclear testing. In Polynesia alone, it is estimated that over 200 nuclear tests have been conducted, causing long-term environmental and humanitarian damage.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev addressed these issues during the opening of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum.
“If we look at the situation today, we see that hundreds of people are suffering as a result of these policies. Today, the Baku Initiative Group is being accused in some hybrid war. In my opinion, this is a very important mission of independent media,” the head of state added.
The Shusha Global Media Forum serves as a significant international platform for discussing the challenges facing modern journalism, the role of media in global politics, and the fight against disinformation. By hosting such events in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the country emphasizes its commitment to transparency and its active role in international discourse regarding neo-colonialism and human rights violations in overseas territories.
