The opening ceremony of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group has been held in Baku.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev participated in the event.
The ceremony began with a commemorative photo session, followed by the playing of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A recitation from the Holy Quran was performed, and a video presentation highlighting the activities and mission of the Islamic Development Bank was screened for the attendees.
President Ilham Aliyev delivered a keynote address at the event, outlining Azerbaijan's vision for regional economic integration and cooperation with Islamic financial institutions. Following the President's remarks, the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, and Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, addressed the participants. The session concluded with the signing of several cooperation agreements aimed at fostering sustainable development.
The Islamic Development Bank is a multilateral development finance institution that works to improve the lives of those it serves by promoting social and economic development in member countries and Muslim communities worldwide.
