President Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Ciftci, on April 9.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Mustafa Ciftci expressed his gratitude to the head of state for the reception and conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the President of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his appreciation for the greetings and requested that his own regards be conveyed to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the conversation, the sides emphasized that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on the principles of brotherhood and strategic alliance, noting the expansion of ties across all sectors.
The meeting highlighted the effective partnership established between the relevant agencies of both countries. In this context, the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye was specifically underscored as a key component of the bilateral security framework.
The relationship between Baku and Ankara reached a peak with the signing of the Shusha Declaration in 2021, which officially elevated the ties to the level of a strategic alliance. This partnership covers a wide range of cooperation, including defense, regional security, and economic integration. The ongoing dialogue between the interior ministries plays a vital role in maintaining regional stability and addressing cross-border security challenges.
