Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Martyrs' Alley in Baku on April 9.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the guest paid tribute to the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. She laid a wreath at the "Eternal Flame" monument.

Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister viewed the panorama of the capital and was briefed on the history of the Martyrs' Alley, its significance in the national memory of the Azerbaijani people, and the ongoing urban development and landscaping projects in the city.

The Martyrs' Alley, located in the capital city of Baku, serves as a memorial to those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January in 1990 and those who fell during the Garabagh War. High-level diplomatic visits to Azerbaijan traditionally include a stop at this site to honor the nation's struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania have seen steady development in recent years, with both nations cooperating across various sectors, including trade, energy, and transport within the framework of bilateral and international partnerships.
