President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the occasion of the national holiday of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter states:
"Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the Federal Republic of Somalia, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and your people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan-Somalia relations, which are based on friendship and mutual respect, are developing and expanding. I believe that we will continue our joint efforts to strengthen our interstate relations, fully utilize the potential of our cooperation, and further expand our partnership.
On this auspicious day, I convey my best wishes to you and wish peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Somalia."
Azerbaijan and Somalia maintain diplomatic relations characterized by mutual respect and cooperation within international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement. Both nations continue to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in areas of mutual interest and development.
