Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of seeking the surrender of the Iranian nation through contradictory and unconstructive diplomatic approaches.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Pezeshkian shared these remarks on his official X account, emphasizing that the fulfillment of existing obligations remains the fundamental basis for any potential dialogue. "The unconstructive and contradictory approach of US officials in recent days carries a bitter message—they want Iran to surrender. However, the Iranian people do not submit to the language of force," Pezeshkian stated, highlighting the deep-seated mistrust regarding Washington's current policy direction.
Relations between Tehran and Washington have remained under significant strain since the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018. While US President Donald Trump has maintained a firm stance on international agreements and regional security, the Iranian leadership continues to demand the lifting of economic sanctions as a prerequisite for renewed negotiations. This latest statement reflects Tehran's ongoing efforts to assert its sovereignty amid complex geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
