Slovak President Peter Pellegrini is scheduled to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in July to discuss the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two nations.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the announcement was made by the Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Richard Raši, during a joint press conference with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), Sahiba Gafarova. The visit is expected to focus on expanding economic cooperation, energy security, and political dialogue between Bratislava and Baku.
Azerbaijan and Slovakia have maintained a steady diplomatic relationship since Slovakia's independence, with a particular focus on diversifying energy routes and increasing trade turnover. This high-level visit follows a series of diplomatic engagements aimed at solidifying Azerbaijan's role as a strategic partner for European Union member states in the South Caucasus region. The discussions in Baku are anticipated to result in the signing of several bilateral agreements covering various sectors of the economy.
