Peskov: Fransa ilə dialoq tezliklə bərpa oluna bilər

Other European nations currently in conflict with Russia have not yet followed Paris's decision to restore ties with Moscow, according to Kremlin officials.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov during a press briefing. Peskov noted that while France has taken steps toward engagement, other regional powers remain hesitant.

“As for other European capitals, there have been no similar initiatives so far,” Peskov stated. He further emphasized that Moscow has indeed maintained contact with Paris, which would allow for the relatively rapid establishment of high-level dialogue if the political will exists on both sides. This follows a recent announcement by French President Emmanuel Macron, who confirmed that Paris has restored technical communication channels with Moscow and suggested that several European partners consider a similar resumption of dialogue.

The potential thaw in diplomatic relations comes amid a period of prolonged tension between Russia and the European Union. France has historically positioned itself as a mediator in European security architectures, often seeking a balance between collective Western positions and direct engagement with Moscow. The restoration of technical channels is viewed by analysts as a preliminary step toward de-escalating regional friction and addressing broader security concerns in Eurasia.
