Global oil prices have experienced a notable decline against the backdrop of emerging diplomatic developments regarding Iran.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, reports from international financial markets indicate that oil prices saw a sharp downturn on Monday. This shift was primarily driven by US President Donald Trump's announcement regarding the initiation of talks with Iran, which has strengthened market expectations for reduced geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Brent crude oil prices fell by more than 4 percent, dropping to $83.88 per barrel. This decline followed US President Donald Trump's statement regarding the potential for negotiations. Previously, the US President had indicated the postponement of planned military actions aimed at ensuring the security of the Strait of Hormuz and addressing concerns surrounding Iran's nuclear program.

Another significant factor influencing the oil market is the decision by OPEC+ nations to increase production. Seven member countries have reached an agreement to boost daily oil production in September by 188,000 barrels compared to August levels.

During a virtual meeting, representatives from Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman assessed the global market situation and ratified the production increase. This move marks the sixth consecutive monthly increase as part of the gradual phase-out of voluntary production cuts, which were originally implemented by OPEC+ in April 2023.

Producers have emphasized that future output decisions will remain contingent on evolving market conditions. The next meeting is scheduled for September 6, where production levels for October will be determined. The OPEC+ alliance, which includes the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, remains a critical mechanism for stabilizing global energy markets through coordinated supply management.
