Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has issued a press statement following the conclusion of the 8th European Political Community (EPC) summit held in Yerevan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of government expressed special gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, who participated in the event via video link, and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz for their involvement in the summit.

“I am grateful to the President of Azerbaijan for his online participation and to the Vice President of Turkey for his involvement in terms of peace processes and regional cooperation. This is very important in the context of developing the peace process and regional cooperation,” Pashinyan stated. He noted that the discussions reaffirmed the necessity of sincere dialogue and practical solutions in the face of global challenges.

Touching upon the importance of strengthening peace in the South Caucasus, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey.

“Sustainable peace, the normalization of relations, and the opening of borders will not only benefit the region but will also strengthen cooperation across the broader European space and beyond,” he added. Pashinyan's remarks underscore a growing emphasis on regional connectivity and the potential for a definitive peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan.

The 8th EPC summit in Yerevan was attended by nearly 50 European leaders, including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and French President Emmanuel Macron. President Ilham Aliyev joined the proceedings in an online format. The European Political Community, established as a platform for political and strategic discussions regarding the future of the continent, continues to play a role in addressing security and stability in the region, particularly concerning the normalization process in the South Caucasus.
