Russian overnight attack on Kyiv kills two, injures 10

A Russian overnight air attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, killed two people and injured 10 residents.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the figures on his social media accounts.

According to Klitschko, five of the injured were hospitalized. Two of them were reported to be in serious condition.

The attack sparked fires in warehouses and other commercial facilities in various parts of Kyiv, in an area housing a private school, and in residential buildings.

Several buildings and vehicles were damaged. Emergency responders and municipal workers continue operating at the sites.

The air raid alert remains in effect in the capital, according to the report. Klitschko urged residents to remain in safe places.

Kyiv has faced repeated aerial attacks since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Ukrainian authorities regularly advise residents to follow air raid warnings and seek shelter during such attacks.
