A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Baku's Nizami district on suspicion of stealing cash and bank cards from a taxi. The suspect, identified as A. Taghiyev, was apprehended following an operation conducted by local police officers.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the suspect boarded the vehicle as a passenger. Taking advantage of the driver's temporary absence from the car, Taghiyev allegedly stole 770 manats in cash, a mobile phone, and several bank cards from the interior of the vehicle.
The suspect is currently in custody, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Theft from vehicles remains a focus for law enforcement agencies in Azerbaijan, which frequently conduct preventive measures and rapid response operations to maintain public order and security in the capital city of Baku.
