Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has cast his vote in the country's parliamentary elections. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of the Armenian government arrived at a polling station in the Shengavit district of Yerevan during the morning hours.
A total of eighteen political forces—comprising 16 parties and two party blocs—are participating in these parliamentary elections. More than 2,000 polling stations have been opened across the country to facilitate the voting process.
The electoral threshold for parties is set at 4%, while blocs consisting of two or three parties must meet an 8% threshold, and alliances of four or more parties are required to reach 10%. Under current legislation, there is no minimum voter turnout requirement for the election results to be considered valid.
These elections take place against the backdrop of significant political developments in Armenia following the 44-day Patriotic War, which resulted in the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the liberation of its occupied territories, including the Garabagh region. The outcome of the vote is closely monitored by regional observers as the country navigates its post-conflict political landscape.
