The Neftchi football club has been fined a total of 13,000 manats following incidents during their match against Garabagh in the XXIX round of the Misli Premier League.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the penalties were issued by the Disciplinary Committee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) due to multiple violations. In the 90+3 minute of the match, supporters of the Baku club threw foreign objects onto the pitch. As this marked the sixth such occurrence during the current season, the club was ordered to pay 5,000 manats. Additionally, Neftchi was fined 8,000 manats because fans engaged in mass insulting chants, an incident recorded for the eighth time this season. Garabagh was also sanctioned, receiving a 7,000 manat fine for the use of pyrotechnics by their supporters.
The rivalry between Neftchi and Garabagh, often referred to as the "Azerbaijani Derby," is the most significant fixture in the Misli Premier League.
