US partners regularly brief Azerbaijan on negotiations related to the TRIPP project.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this in comments to journalists in Baku during the high-level opening ceremony of the Fourth Climate Week of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (CW4).
He emphasized that the main negotiations on TRIPP are being conducted between the United States and Armenia:
“This is natural. At the same time, our US partners regularly brief the Azerbaijani side, because the project cannot be implemented without Azerbaijan’s participation. The information provided to us is that the process is progressing successfully. We had been told that the process would begin by the end of the year. However, the latest information indicates that it will begin in 2027. We believe the project is very important for Azerbaijan, Armenia and the region as a whole, as well as for international partnership. The restoration of railways in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has also already begun. There are international partners interested in participating in this project. At the same time, we are already taking the necessary steps ourselves.”
The TRIPP project is expected to contribute to the development of regional transport links and improve connectivity between Azerbaijan, Armenia and neighboring areas. Its implementation is also linked to broader efforts to restore and expand railway infrastructure, including routes connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan.
