People's Artist of Azerbaijan, renowned theater and film actor, and director Tofiq Mirzayev has been laid to rest in the city of Arad, Israel.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora confirmed the details of the funeral, which was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani community living in Israel and members of the late artist's family, including his son.
During the ceremony, Yegana Salman, Vice President of the "AzIz" Israel–Azerbaijan International Association and head of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Israel, spoke about Mirzayev's significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani culture. She highlighted that despite living abroad, the artist maintained a deep connection to his homeland and actively supported diaspora activities.
Speakers at the event emphasized that Tofiq Mirzayev's legacy in Azerbaijani culture and his dedication to the diaspora will be remembered with gratitude and profound respect by the community. Tofiq Mirzayev passed away in Israel on July 22 at the age of 94.
