The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has officially approved the new composition of its Counting and Disciplinary commissions. The relevant draft resolutions were discussed and adopted during the parliamentary plenary session held in Baku today.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the newly formed Counting Commission includes members of parliament Eldar Quliyev, Mikhail Zabelin, Sevinj Huseynova, Nagif Hamzayev, Rovshan Muradov, Soltan Mammadov, and Sabina Salmanova. These members will be responsible for overseeing voting procedures and tallying results during parliamentary sessions.
The Disciplinary Commission will consist of Eldar Ibrahimov, Asim Mollazade, Kamal Jafarov, Afet Hasanova, Malahat Ibrahimgizi, Kamaladdin Gafarov, Sattar Mohbaliyev, Nasib Mahamaliyev, Hikmat Mammadov, Mashhur Mammadov, and Nizami Safarov. Following the discussions, both draft resolutions were put to a vote and adopted in a single reading.
The Milli Majlis serves as the unicameral legislative branch of the government in Azerbaijan, consisting of 125 deputies elected for five-year terms. The formation of these internal commissions is a standard procedure to ensure the organized and ethical conduct of legislative business within the parliament. These bodies play a crucial role in maintaining internal regulations and ensuring the transparency of the legislative process in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
